June Update

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support as we prepare to move to Europe. This update is somewhat shorter than our previous updates, but with more specific details as our transition comes into clearer focus…

Lithuania, or Leipzig and Lithuania?

In our previous update, we shared that we were still waiting to hear whether Benj had been approved for a research fellowship in Germany. We have still not received a decision on that fellowship (expected in mid-July). However, both LCC’s leadership and the prospective host scholar (in Leipzig) have agreed that if the fellowship is approved, we would move to Germany for a shorter time (probably a summer and a semester), and not until the next school year.

This means that we will be moving directly to Lithuania in August. This decision allows us to better plan for our move and prepare for life in Klaipėda (apartment, car, school, etc.).

Transition to Europe

Moving/storage — We are moving from Hatfield to Corrie’s mother’s home in Perkasie on June 24. We would appreciate any help with moving and cleaning–please contact us if you are able to assist.

Appliances for sale — We are hoping to sell some appliances: washing machine, drier, and three window AC units. The washer and drier were purchased new last year; they do not have many fancy features, but they work just fine. The ACs were purchased used last year, and have worked fine for us. Please contact us if you are interested.

Praise — We have figured out our car-storage situation.

Help

Prayer — Please pray for the strength and courage to proceed with two moves, and for diligence to manage all the details.

Spread the word — Please share the news of our work with others who would be interested in praying for us and/or supporting us. If you think your church, small group, or a circle of friends would be interested in hearing about our ministry, we would love to present at some point–please email or call Benj (267-945-7354). Upcoming church visits: First Presbyterian Church, Norristown, PA (July 9); First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Holly, NJ (July 16).

Financial support — As stated above, we will need to raise a portion of our salary through donations. Please consider becoming part of our regular support team. If you cannot commit to regular support, please also consider making a one-time donation toward the other needs below. For more information on how to support our ministry, click here, or contact me directly.

We have recently learned that some companies (including Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Exxon Mobil, and others) match contributions made by employees or retirees to qualifying charitable foundations. If you would like your company to match your contribution to the LCC International Fund on our behalf, please contact us directly.

Regular Support Commitments Goal: $17,576/year ($1,465/month)
Committed/Received: $13,040/year ($1,087/month)
Non-LCC Teaching and Preaching Travel (Including Ukraine course) Goal: $1580
Received: $0
Outfitting Fund (one-time expenses) Goal: $4,368
Received: $1,972

Please contact us if you have any questions about these needs. We appreciate those of you who are praying for our family through this time of transition and tumult. God continues to be faithful.
